What to do in the area!      En francais
The place to start is the tourist board website at Sancy.fr. They have now improved the website and have a page all about Murat le Quaire see sancy.com/commune/murat-le-quaire and have even created a short video. Click here to view it
Murat-Le-Quaire also has it's own museum which you'll find details of at toinette.com If you have young children then the goat farm in Murat Le Quaire is also a must.
La Bourboule, less than 2km away, has lots of restaurants, supermarkets, shops and a brand new (Opened Sept 2010) indoor/outdoor swimming pool. It also has a spectacular (and very child friendly park) which also now has it's own website. Checkout Parcfenestre.com
For summer visitors Bort-Les-Orgues (www.bort-artense.com) is also a must visit just 30 minutes drive from the house. There's the stunning chateau de val, a swimming beach with a water park and canoes and pedaloes can be hired for trips around the lake. Because it's at lower altitude often the water here is warmer than the Plan D'eau at Murat-le-Quaire.
